Quoting Hector Munro Chadwick, Professor of Anglo-Saxon & Kindred Studies, David Nash Ford in his 'Early British Kingdoms' writes that the Kings of Galloway had been forced from the mainland, and settled successfully on the Isle of Man for several generations. [2]
